Getting Started...

I am not that big on leaving posts for others, in fact I would consider myself a "Lurker" by trade. I have enjoyed many posts from others on their saving endeavors and have used many posts to my favor. I have decided I would give it a try and see if it's possible that my new found "frugal" wisdom could benefit others. I often visit CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Target to benefit my grocery budget. I have begged DH to increase my grocery allowance of $250 every other week for years and we just can't do it. I have a 12 yo DS, 15 yo DS and 9 yo DD to feed and that amount barely lets us scrape by. Plus, I need a new dishwasher like no one's business so I decided that somehow I would save on groceries, entertainment, and clothes in order to afford the Dishwasher of my dreams. (pssttt...I remember when my dreams didn't involve home appliances...those were the days :) ). Anyway, since I started reading money saving blogs I have filled my pantry with groceries and my closet with supplies, and my savings account with...drumroll please, $280 towards my dishwasher. That's since the beginning of May. I have decided to start off with the savings and then shop for my DREAM MACHINE. Since I am posting I will do that this week so I can get a picture on here and a rolling total should anyone want to follow my journey (psssttt...again, I never thought my journey would involve home appliances).

Ok, so here's my first post. I will update daily before midnight as I do work full time outside the home and just happen to be on vacation this week while DH recoups from Knee Surgery.
